Nelly Parashkevova is a Bulgarian single mom who has been working entirely remotely since 2015. That’s when she quit her labor contract job as an IT specialist in a call center.

Blogging and freelancing at the same time

She truly disliked working in an office. The desire to escape the schedule was her top motivation to start looking for remote work opportunities. And flexibility is still the number one reason she pointed out as an advantage to working from home.

Nelly enjoys the freedom her current job provides her and the time she has to blog and improve her website for users. Blogging is a fantastic adventure full of pleasant (and not-so-nice) surprises every day.

Her writing journey started back in 2017 when she joined a platform for bloggers called bitLanders and started experiencing all the details and virtually communicating with other bloggers. It was exciting, and she wanted to grow the website with her posts.

Nelly took many photos back then, as many of her posts were travel articles. She learned all the basics and made her first money from her publications. The payment could have been better, but it was a great learning adventure.

She made many friends and occasionally chats with some of them. Then the website became inactive, and all users headed in different directions. She started looking for another opportunity and soon got her severe first project on Appen.

Nelly still works with them as a freelancer, while blogging is more of a side hustle. She enjoys both of these endeavors she is into so much that sometimes she wishes it had more than 24 hours a day.

Her current blog, The Work Master

The idea to start blogging for herself came to her because of a bet she made with a friend. The challenge was to create a successful online business within a year. She started four months ago, and it feels like a winning project.

Through the startup, The Work Master, She wants to help others find the freedom of working remotely and set their own schedule. Everyone deserves to do a job he/she loves and design the lifestyle of his/her dreams.

Searching myself for many years, I know that currently, it is easier than ever to find a work-from-home position. As technology nowadays is at a higher level, people are hired online to support and grow AI, websites, businesses, etc.

What should bloggers focus on?

She advises other bloggers to keep pushing, do little things daily for their website, grow, improve, and never stop. It doesn’t matter how quick or slow you are. Speed will come with experience. It’s essential to be consistent in your efforts.

Initially, it took her many hours to check her work for typos and do all the formatting. But then, she got used to the software and the interface, and her attempts started giving results. In time, any job becomes more manageable. It’s a matter of practice.

We all have different weaknesses in work and various areas to improve, but with persistence, one can overcome the difficulties and improve in his/her job.

Her vision regarding work

She wishes she could manage to influence the mindset of people about working altogether from “Uff, I don’t feel like going to work!” to “I can’t wait to get back to my job!” or at least to “I like my job.” She realizes how ambitious that sounds, but we all have dreams.

She is a workaholic herself, and due to this, she has fewer challenges with her attitude toward work. Most of the jobs she worked online were related to AI development. This field is expanding, and new jobs are coming out daily.

Nelly encourages everyone to start building their desired life, as the moment to do this is better than ever. With so many opportunities, anyone can find what he’s looking for. If you want to go beyond what’s available – you can always create something innovative.

The stories about people working and traveling the world simultaneously are far from fantasies. This is the reality of many individuals who embraced freelancing and the digital nomad lifestyle.

Why a blog about work?

When she travels, she takes her laptop with her, and she can use any place with an Internet connection to complete her daily tasks. She also created her routine around her remote job to have the option to use only her smartphone to do most of her work.

People around her keep asking her about how they can join and enjoy the benefits of working remotely. This is also one of the reasons she chose the topic of her blog to be about working from home.

She has been doing it for the past eight years and wants to keep doing it in the future. It is the field she is most knowledgeable about.

You need much motivation, a calm environment, and fun tasks to improve your work. People who are incredibly good at their jobs share one thing in common – they all love what they do.
